Job Description

The purpose of this position is to create an opportunity for student staff to gain practical work experience while protecting the safety and well-being of each person using the Student Recreation Center aquatic facilities.

Communication Critical Thinking Professionalism Protect the safety and well-being of each person using the Student Recreation Center aquatic facilities. Maintain daily records and facility checks. Clean aquatic areas as assigned. Attend regularly scheduled meetings throughout the year. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication. Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team. Be accountable and reliable. Demonstrate the ability to enforce rules and regulations. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive rapport with patrons and co-workers. Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in Recreation and Wellness Student Employee Manual. Promote and support the mission of the Department of Recreation and Wellness. May be required to work special events outside regular operating hours. Participate in Student Development and Leadership Program. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must have Lifeguard Certification to be considered for the position.
