CSG empowers girls to discover their distinct potential as learners and leaders. As a leader in the education of girls and young women, it is a vibrant community of more than 500 students, 120 faculty and staff, and 3,000 active alumnae. CSG's 8-acre academic campus in the beautiful Bexley neighborhood is a ten-minute drive from downtown Columbus, a city bustling with artistic, civic, and shopping experiences. Columbus School for Girls is seeking an energetic and reliable part-time Lifeguard to join our aquatics team.

Responsibilities:

Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Maintaining order on the pool deck and in the water Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. Enforces the pool rules in an appropriate, fair manner and explains the rationale for the rule(s) when needed. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Attends all pool staff and evaluation meetings as requested. Be on time and cover all assigned hours. If unable to work, the lifeguard will find an approved substitute. Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, First-Aid, AED certified Current lifeguard certification or willingness to get certified or renewed through CSG Prior experience is preferred

Physical Demands:

Ability to swim proficiently and perform water rescues in emergencies. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain alert for extended periods of time while monitoring pools or aquatic areas. Ability to lift, carry, and assist individuals weighing up to 50 pounds or more during rescue or first aid situations.
