Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant aquatic team as a Lead Lifeguard and become the heartbeat of safety and guest enjoyment at our premier pool facility. In this energetic role, you will oversee daily pool operations, ensure the highest standards of water safety, and lead a team of dedicated lifeguards. Your enthusiasm and leadership will create a secure, welcoming environment where guests can relax, have fun, and make lasting memories. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in pool maintenance, guest services, and emergency response while making a positive impact on our community. Duties Supervise and coordinate the activities of lifeguards including but not limited to; creating the schedule, hosting in-services, assisting the aquatic director in the hiring process, coordinating time off requests, enforce rules and carry out disciplinary actions if necessary. Monitor pool conditions continuously, performing regular pool maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, skimming debris, and checking chemical levels to maintain optimal water quality. Enforce safety rules and policies diligently to prevent accidents and promote responsible guest behavior. Provide exceptional guest services by assisting visitors with pool rules, answering questions, and ensuring a positive experience for all ages. Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment, pool area cleanliness, and overall facility condition to uphold health and safety standards. Lead training sessions for new lifeguards on rescue techniques, CPR procedures, first aid protocols, and pool maintenance practices. Handle heavy lifting involved in setting up or maintaining pool equipment and cleaning supplies safely and efficiently. Experience Prior experience as a lifeguard or in a similar aquatic safety role is required. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid is required; ongoing training will be provided if needed. Demonstrated swimming ability with strong comfort in water rescue scenarios. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during routine inspections. Previous experience leading or supervising a team of lifeguards or aquatic staff is a plus but not mandatory; leadership skills are essential.
