Job Description

Shifts include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and events. Bonus at the end of the pool season. Must be at least 18 years of age Previous experience required. Must be currently certified- Red Cross Certification for Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED. Swim Lesson Instructor Certification highly encouraged. Supervise and observe swimmers at all times to ensure their safety. Make certain that the pool, and surrounding areas are clean, well-maintained and the environment is safe for the pool members and staff. Ensure that the pool is in compliance with the Association and the Health Department Standards. Must have the ability to enforce all pool rules, policies and regulations. Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies Observe and correct any dangerous behavior in and around the pool in a friendly, courteous manner. Must have the ability to analyze potential problems and select proper course of action. Must be able to communicate oral and written. Be mature, dependable, and act in a professional manner. Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor. Complete records and reports. Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques. Must have an understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures. Must have leadership, public relations skills and decision-making skills Season end bonus if Lifeguard stays entire summer.
