Wildlife Water School, LLC is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and professional individuals to join our growing team for the Summer 2026 season. We are a proud female-owned business specializing in inclusive swim education for students of all abilities, ages 6 months to 17 years. Whether you are looking to start your first job or bring years of experience to the pool, we provide a fun, high-energy environment and comprehensive training to ensure you feel confident in the water! We are hiring for multiple roles across our various locations. Many of these positions offer overlapping opportunities, providing a dynamic workday and the chance to gain diverse experience. 1.
Swim Instructor The Role:
Deliver high-quality lessons (including 1:1 privates, 2:1 semi-privates, small groups, stroke classes, and parent-and-me sessions) for swimmers aged 6 months to 17 years.
Adaptive Swim Focus:
We specialize in teaching children of all abilities, including those with profound autism, medical concerns, Down syndrome, and other high-support needs. Have extensive experience? We look to match qualified candidates with these specialized lessons right away. Want to learn? Selected candidates may be eligible to pursue an adaptive swim certification through Swim Angelfish , with potential course-cost coverage and training-rate compensation provided by the school.
Requirements & Clearance:
Candidates must successfully pass and provide child abuse clearances, FBI fingerprinting, and criminal background checks prior to instruction. Paid training includes a comprehensive instructional manual and on-site shadowing with an experienced instructor.
Lifeguards:
Lifeguards on our team also serve as swim instructors. While a lifeguard certification is not required to apply as an instructor, certified lifeguards are highly encouraged to apply! 2. Traveling Swim Instructor (Optional Add-On)
The Role:
Bring the Wildlife experience directly to backyard and community pools! Instructors coordinate their own travel to clients' homes to provide private, high-quality instruction.
Potential Perks:
Traveling roles include eligibility for paid driving time. We make every effort to match traveling instructors with clients in their preferred geographic areas. 3. ISR /
Survival Swim Instructor The Focus:
We strongly support survival swim curriculums and the structured consistency they require. As our school expands, we aim to secure facilities that allow for year-round instruction following daily 10-minute curriculums.

bring your survival swim expertise to us, or grow your existing skill set alongside our program! Locations & Schedule Windows Positions are available across multiple sites, with opportunities to substitute or travel between locations based on availability. We are actively seeking immediate instructors for the North Hills and South Hills areas, and more and/or future placements. Work as many hours as you would like, depending on our needs!
South Hills:
JCC South Hills | Wednesdays, 5:00 PM•7:00
PM North Hills:
La Roche University Pool | Wednesdays, 5:00 PM•7:00
PM Connellsville:
Blue Canoe RV Resort | Tuesdays, 5:00 PM•7:00
PM North Versailles:
East Allegheny High School | Sundays, 4:00 PM•6:00
PM Greensburg:
Greensburg YMCA | Sundays, 12:30 PM•2:30 PM (Positions crossing between Greensburg and North Versailles may be eligible for 1 hour of travel time compensation)
Potential indoor facility opportunity coming September 2026 (Anticipated multiple days per week)
Your Own Pool:
Have a pool? We can work to match local clients to your available facility schedule.
Traveling Line:
In-home lessons throughout Pittsburgh and surrounding target regions.
Requirements & Qualifications Age:
14 years of age or older.
Clearances:
Must successfully obtain and maintain all state-required child abuse clearances, criminal background checks, and fingerprinting.
Swimming Skills:
Must be a strong, confident, and capable swimmer (competitive swimming background is an asset, but not required).
