Lifeguard State College, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22460131 Summary State College, PA Competitive Salary 1 Years Experience High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED) No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift /Full-Time Description Reference #: 7684099003 POSITION SUMMARY Ensure the safety of patrons at the Minitab aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the aquatics facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times; maintain a high standard of customer service. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
At least current high school student with 6 months to 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is preferred. Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification, or lifeguard certification by a recognized source of training. Red Cross CPR/AED certification
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques. Knowledge of CPR, AED, and emergency medical procedures. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Display sensitivity and tact when dealing with people at all physical levels. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport objects weighing 20 pounds. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language. Must have working papers if under the age of 18.
