The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe swimming environment by actively monitoring guests, enforcing facility rules, preventing accidents, and responding quickly and effectively to emergencies. The ideal candidate is alert, professional, and committed to providing excellent customer service while ensuring the safety of all patrons. Essential Responsibilities Monitor swimmers and surrounding pool areas to ensure guest safety at all times. Recognize and respond promptly to emergencies, including water rescues, first aid, CPR, and AED situations. Enforce all pool rules and safety regulations in a professional and respectful manner. Conduct routine safety inspections of the pool, deck, and equipment. Maintain accurate incident and accident reports as needed. Assist with opening and closing pool procedures. Keep the pool deck, restrooms, and surrounding areas clean and organized. Provide exceptional customer service by answering guest questions and addressing concerns professionally. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification Strong swimming abilities and physical endurance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during emergency situations Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods Must be at least 18 years or older Preferred Qualifications Previous lifeguarding or aquatic experience required. Experience working with children and families is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to swim continuously and perform water rescues. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in hot, humid, and outdoor environments.
