Qualifications Lifeguard Training Swimming Lifeguard Certification Full Job Description Job Summary:
A lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of our students in and around aquatic environments such as pools, beaches, and water parks. This role involves monitoring activities, preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and enforcing safety rules.
Key Responsibilities:
Continuously observe swimmers and surrounding areas to identify potential hazards or unsafe behavior Enforce all facility rules and safety regulations Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including performing water rescues and administering first aid or CPR Maintain a clean and safe environment, including checking equipment and reporting issues Provide assistance and guidance to students regarding water safety
Qualifications:
Current lifeguard certification (e.g., CPR, First Aid, AED) Strong swimming skills and physical fitness Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to stay calm and act decisively in emergencies
Work Environment:
Lifeguards typically work outdoors or in indoor aquatic facilities. The role may require working in varying weather conditions, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to swim long distances and perform rescues Stand or sit for extended periods Lift or assist individuals in distress
Preferred Skills:
Previous lifeguarding or aquatic experience Knowledge of water safety education Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
