Metro Parks SW7/ Lifeguard

Lifeguard - Community Centers (ages 15-24) This position performs skilled recreation work and oversees participants in aquatic area and ensures that safety measures are exercised at all times. Duties include but are not limited to: Enforcing all rules, regulations and procedures governing the aquatic facilities, including compliance with health, safety & building codes. Rescuing swimmers in distress Administering first aid Administering CPR or AED if necessary Calling for emergency personnel when needed. Cleaning pool and deck area, bathrooms floors & fixtures, storeroom and office on a daily basis. Checking all equipment for proper operation periodically during absence of Pool Manager and reports any problems to designated supervisor. Work hours vary depending on which center you are located at and will include some weekend, evenings and holiday work. Rate of pay is $18.00 per hour. Up to 30 hours per week. (16 positions available). Minimum age is 15. Individual must possess American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training certification or equivalent prior to appointment. Parks will assist in obtaining ARC certification.
