Overview ​

PURPOSE STATEMENT

​Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all people in and around the facility's swimming pool. May 2026 - August 2026. Flexible schedule - Full time or Part time Responsibilities ​

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

​Prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors in and around the pool. ​Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies. ​Administer first aid and CPR, including using an AED and if trained, administer emergency oxygen when needed. ​Rescue distressed swimmers when necessary. ​Enforce the pool rules in an appropriate, fair and equitable manner and explain the rationale for the rule(s) when needed. ​Assist people as needed, but without compromising the safety of others using the facility. ​May perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe pool. ​Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority. Qualifications ​

​Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. ​

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

​High school diploma or equivalent required. ​One or more years' previous lifeguard experience required. ​

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS

​Must have Lifeguard Certification from an accredited organization. ​CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required. ​First aid may be required based on state or facility.
