ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Physically able to perform lifesaving skills, pool maintenance, record keeping, sanitation, and instruction. Must be able to perform swimming pool duties as required, such as: 1. Maintaining swimming pool facilities 2. Sanitation daily 3. Vacuuming 4. Filtration 5. Maintaining pool grounds indoor/outdoors 6. Other duties specified by the Aquatic Supervisor Must be able to communicate and work well with others. Must be responsible, reliable, and prompt. Must be able to participate and attend workshops. Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and the general public. Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts. Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications. Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Effort Requirements Position will have the following exposures Office or similar indoor environment, relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk. Valid Licenses and Certifications Required Licenses or Certifications (Copies of certifications must be attached to the job application) Lifeguard Certificate is required First Aid Certificate is required CPR for Pro Certificate is required Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment. As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
