Featuring 32 natural hot spring pools, 16 WorldSprings-inspired pools, barrel saunas, cold dip pools, and much more, we are committed to creating a peaceful and rejuvenating sanctuary for our visitors. Zion Canyon Hot Springs will be a top-tier retreat that combines natural beauty and wellness. Position Summary Lifeguards play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of guests enjoying our pools and water features. This position is responsible for monitoring all aquatic areas, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies when necessary. Lifeguards serve as ambassadors of guest care and are expected to maintain a professional, vigilant, and courteous presence at all times. Enforce facility rules and regulations in a professional and consistent manner. Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, including water rescues and first aid. Report all safety concerns and emergency situations to the Operations Manager and Human Resources. Conduct routine inspections of pool decks, water quality, and safety equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of lifeguard stations and surrounding pool areas. Communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and management. Participate in ongoing training and safety drills as scheduled. Provide excellent customer service and support a welcoming guest experience. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) preferred (not required). Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required (provided upon training if needed). Strong observation and communication skills. Ability to stay calm and act decisively in emergency situations. Must be physically able to perform rescues and other lifeguard duties. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and evenings. Must be 21 years of age or older to work on the 21+ side of the property. Essential Physical Functions Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods while actively monitoring aquatic environments. Must be able to swim continuously, tread water, and perform water rescues in chlorine pools, saltwater pools, and mineral hot springs pools . Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull individuals or equipment weighing 50 pounds or more during rescue or emergency situations. Must be able to enter and exit pools quickly, climb ladders, and move rapidly across pool decks. Requires the ability to perform CPR, first aid, and emergency response procedures. Visual acuity sufficient to continuously monitor swimmers, identify signs of distress, and observe pool conditions across multiple pool types. Auditory ability sufficient to hear alarms, whistles, guest calls for help, and radio communication. Must be able to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather and environmental conditions, including heat, sun exposure, humidity, and steam. Standard Work Environment Conditions Employees may be required to work in environments that include: Indoor and outdoor resort settings Proximity to chlorine-treated pools, saltwater pools, and mineral hot springs pools Exposure to humidity, steam, moisture, and wet or slippery surfaces Variable temperatures, including heat from hot springs and outdoor sun exposure Exposure to cleaning agents, pool chemicals, and food service chemicals (role-dependent) High guest traffic, noise, and fast-paced service conditions How to
