Head Lifeguard Orem Recreation/Fitness Center/ Scera Park Pools - 3.0 Orem, UT Job Details Part-time $15.30 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Cardiac arrest emergency response Patient resuscitation CPR Certification Lifeguard Training BLS Certification Swimming Lifeguard Certification Teaching AED Certification First aid and CPR Full Job Description Employees get a free membership and buddy pass to Orem Fitness Center. Shifts available Mon-Sat 5am-10pm. Head Lifeguard (ages 15+): Responsible for monitoring the swimming pools at the Orem Fitness Center. Assisting or rescuing patrons in need of help and performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or administering first aid as necessary. Enforces pool rules and performs pool maintenance and custodial duties. Conducts and participates in safety and accident prevention programs. Provides instruction to participants in beginning to advanced swimming techniques and skills. Keeps records, prepares written reports, assists with special events and swim meets. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervise and manage lifeguard staff, pool chemicals, facility regulations. Must possess and maintain a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate with current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (City is willing to provide free certification based on passing minimum skills requirement). Swim Instructors must possess and maintain a current swim instructor training certificate and have knowledge of the appropriate methods of teaching swimming techniques and skills from beginning to advanced levels. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must have the ability to communicate with people of all ages. Applicants must be in compliance with Recreation Department dress, personal appearance policy. Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be subject to random drug testing. Pay starts at $15.30/hr.
