Hourly pay: $14
Overview:
This position ensures water cleanliness and safety for all guests in a professional manner at the outdoor pool area. Reports to the Sportsclub Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Supervise all pool activities, maintain order and enforce rules at the outdoor pool area in a courteous manner. Provide a safe, but relaxing atmosphere for guests and members. Check identification of pool guests to ensure they are guests or members. In the event of a drowning issue or in an emergency situation, lifeguards are responsible for saving the pool guest and following the emergency procedures. Assist the supervisor in evacuating the pool area in the event of lightening and follows the company procedures for evacuation and reentry. Maintain the cleanliness of the pool by vacuuming and skimming each morning and throughout the shift as needed including sweeping sand and picking up litter. Perform housekeeping of pool area by maintaining locker rooms, clean tables, chairs and umbrellas; empty trash, pick up litter and towels and straighten lounge chairs and stacking and retrieving inner tubes left along the perimeters at the beginning, end and throughout the shift. Assist sports staff with pool activities and special events for guests and members. Maintain upkeep of rescue equipment and first aid kit including restocking and ensure the supervisor is informed when stock is low. Performs duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Lifeguard Certification plus CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required. Previous lifeguarding experience preferred. Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, kneel, push/pull and lift upwards of 100 lbs. for rescue needs with the ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions including prolonged exposure to sunlight for an 8 hour shift. Must be able to perform tasks in a safe manner and adhere to company policies. Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks established by the company. Must be able to respond to emergency situations and make decisions quickly. Must be 16 years of age. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
