Great staff retention Relaxed atmosphere Safe work environment Casual work attire On-the-job training Mary Wayte Pool is seeking a reliable morning person to join our team as an opening lifeguard and possible swim instructor. Our current morning lifeguard has been with us since 2022. They recently married and they are moving too far away to commute. They will greatly be missed by the staff and the patrons. We strive to find the right people to fit into our positive work environment. We are looking for people with a passion to help keep patrons safe and possibly teach them to swim. No experience necessary. Willing to train the right person. Experience teaching in an American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program or swim school format preferred. This position can be full or part time depending on your needs, health and retirement benefits eligible for full time staff. Compensation is competitive and premium pay for private swimming lessons. Shifts start at the following times: Monday - Friday at 5:15 am, Saturday at 6:30 am, and Sunday at 8:30 am. Length of the shifts can vary depending on your availability. This could be a great opportunity for someone looking to earn extra income before going to their full-time job.
Responsibilities include:
lifeguarding swims, greeting swimmers, computer work, and cleaning. If interested in becoming and instructor, additional responsibilities would include: teaching group and private swim lessons to all ages and abilities, coaching fitness swimming, mentoring younger athletes and providing a positive environment for swimmers to develop and learn a skill for life. Interested applicants should be a positive team player, self motivated, has reliable transportation, responsible, and dependable. Local candidate preferred. We do not pay relocation costs. Job Type:
Full time or part time Salary with no experience: $19/hour (Lifeguard) to $34.00/hour (Private Lessons). Lessons wages and applicants with experience will receive higher wages. $500 signing bonus after 180 days of employment in good standing. Shift differential pay for shifts before 8:30 am.
