Job Title:
Private Lesson Swim Instructor Department:
Aquatics Employment Type:
Part-Time / Flexible Hours Pay type : Commissions- 50/50% split (Approx $40/hr depending on the swim lesson package)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Private Lesson Swim Instructor to provide individualized swim instruction to participants of all ages and skill levels. The instructor will create a supportive and engaging learning environment while helping swimmers build confidence, improve technique, and develop water safety skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group swim lessons tailored to each participant's age, ability, and goals Assess swimmer skill levels and develop appropriate lesson plans Teach proper swimming techniques, water safety skills, and stroke development Ensure the safety of all participants in and around the pool at all times Maintain clear communication with parents and participants regarding progress and skill development Enforce all facility and aquatic safety policies and procedures Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional environment during lessons Set up and return lesson equipment as needed Report any safety concerns, incidents, or facility issues to aquatics leadership
Qualifications:
Current Lifeguard Certification preferred (or ability to obtain) Current Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required Swim Instructor Certification preferred (such as American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor) Strong swimming ability and knowledge of swim techniques and water safety 2+ years experience teaching swim lessons preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage scheduled lessons
Physical Requirements:
Ability to swim and demonstrate all major strokes Ability to enter and exit the pool frequently Ability to lift or assist swimmers when needed Ability to remain in a humid pool environment for extended periods
Schedule:
Flexible scheduling based on instructor availability and participant demand. Evening and weekend availability required
