King Cove, Alaska 99612, United States Housekeeper Position Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly living and common-area environment for construction personnel at a remote Alaska jobsite. This position performs routine housekeeping and sanitation duties in crew housing, dining and common areas, offices, restrooms, and other assigned facilities. The Housekeeper must be dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a remote construction camp environment. Essential Job Functions Clean and sanitize sleeping quarters, common areas, offices, restrooms, showers, kitchens, dining areas, and other assigned facilities. Perform routine sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface cleaning. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, fixtures, sinks, toilets, showers, and other sanitary areas. Change linens, make beds, and replenish towels and other housekeeping supplies as required. Collect, sort, and properly dispose of trash and other waste in accordance with site requirements. Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, paper products, toiletries, and other necessary materials. Maintain housekeeping equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, pest concerns, leaks, or other facility issues to the appropriate supervisor. Follow established cleaning schedules and maintain assigned areas to required standards. Properly use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow all site safety policies, environmental requirements, sanitation procedures, and applicable regulations. Assist with deep cleaning and turnover of rooms and facilities as needed. Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with construction personnel, supervisors, and other camp staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Education/Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, hotel, camp, or commercial cleaning experience preferred. Experience working in a remote camp, construction camp, industrial facility, or similar environment is a plus. Must be able to work independently and manage cleaning assignments with minimal supervision. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation practices. Ability to safely use common cleaning products, tools, and equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean and sanitary facilities. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, remote jobsite environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of employees residing in camp facilities. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and a remote Alaska environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Ability to push and pull cleaning carts and equipment. Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the workday. Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with jobsite safety requirements. Work Environment This position is performed at a remote construction site in Alaska and may involve working in challenging weather conditions and a camp-style living environment.
