Job Description

ER Discharge Relief Cleans and services hospital areas and performs a variety of duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition according to established procedures. Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital. Assists in housekeeping department as needed to lift, move and relocate furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, and other areas assigned. Collects trash and cleans trash receptacles. Perform discharge/transfer room cleaning. Supplies are replaced in the dispensers daily. Project work and detail cleaning is handled as required.
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. May be in contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances. Able to handle emergency or crisis situations. Occasionally subject to irregular hours. May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary.
Education:
HS diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
Must be able to work well with others. Verbal and written communications skills are required. Is expected to project a professional attitude in appearance and conduct. Is expected to attend work as scheduled. Must comply with the Hospital's Code of Conduct. Must be able to stand and walk for long hours and have the mobility and strength to move quickly, stoop, and/or bend repeatedly. Must have dexterity of hands, eyes, and mind to perform assigned tasks. Must have the ability to remain calm under stress. Must be able to use EVS-related technology including bed tracking systems, mobile communication devices, and electronic work order platforms.
