Position Summary The Spice Room Attendant is responsible for organizing prices and ingredients as well as pre-weighing and batching all ingredients needed for production. This role works closely with the department supervisors, other department leads, and processing team members, in order to accomplish accuracy within the processing department and to ensure that our customers receive quality products. This position executes processes that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations, supporting Foster Poultry Farms' mission, vision, and ACTION guiding principles: Accountability, Collaboration, Truth-Seeking, Initiative, Ownership, and Nimbleness. Essential Functions Organize spices and ingredients. Pre-weigh and batch all ingredients as needed for production. Weigh and dump bags of spice using a small scoop for exact measures. Responsible for mixing the spices used to brine mixtures and prep carts. Monitor brine mixtures. Observe and enforce all CCP's as mandated by product procedures. Record the addition of spice periodically throughout the shift. Document all deviation from the procedure and the corrective action taken. Flexible operation schedule to be ahead of the main production process. Assist hourly employees as needed. Other duties as assigned. All personnel employed or associated with Foster Poultry Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated in a company handbook and at training sessions. Each new hire is provided a handbook and attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year. Records are maintained reflecting the distribution of employee handbooks and attendance at the training sessions. Physical Requirements Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours on a wet concrete floor Must be able to withstand a cold (40-48 degree) environment. Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders. Must be able to work in a fast pace work environment. Qualifications Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify. Must be able to read and write English. Must have basic math skills. Must have reliable transportation. Basic knowledge of math function -, +, averaged, etc. Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as percentages to determine batching proportions. Basic computer skills. HS diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate with all levels including management. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Decision making ability for the flagging of deviation from procedures. Weigh scale operation knowledge preferred. Basic knowledge of sanitation and clean up preferred. Ability to learn basic operating procedures for marinade and sauce blending. Good leadership and interpersonal skills. Able to work safely and set an example of safe working habits for his/hers coworkers. Must be able to safely operate forklift and/or pallet jack. Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
