Stocking Full Job Description Job Description Job Summary:
Under supervision, cleans, polishes, and sanitizes gathering and public spaces including lobbies, halls, stairwells, dining rooms, elevators, etc. to present the community in a positive and impressive manner for residents and guests. Clean residents' apartments on a weekly basis or as needed. In addition, interacts with residents and guests in a friendly courteous manner, aiding, and directions as requested.Reports to:
Maintenance Director/ Executive Director Essential Functions and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:- Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, such as early morning, evenings, weekends, holidays, and ability to assist in emergency situations.
- Ability to responds appropriately to resident emergencies by calling or contacting appropriate internal and external parties, according to established protocol. May also assist with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations (i.e., fires, tornados, elopements, etc.).
- Ability to alert supervisors immediately if the housekeeper notices any building malfunctions, hazardous environments, chemical spills, or resident emergencies.
- Ability to follow a schedule of cleaning duties assigned to residents apartment that include but is not limited to cleaning of bathroom fixtures and floors.
- Assists with unclogging toilets, restocking paper towels & dispensers, restocking toilet paper, changing soap/ sanitizer dispensers
- Cleans floors to include sweeping, dusting, damp / wet moping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. Properly sets up appropriate caution and safety signs to ensure safety of residents and guests and ensure their removal as appropriate. Cleans carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, and deodorizing, and disinfecting.
- Cleans dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning / disinfecting solutions. Handles hazardous cleaning supplies according to proper procedures and ensures accurate labeling.
- Cleans public restrooms including washing, sanitizing, and / or polishing bathroom fixtures. Ensures that watermarks are removed from fixtures.
- Interacts with resident in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention. Communicates concerns with resident's health to management as appropriate.
- Must document, log, track all cleaning responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 18 years or older.
- 3-6 months of related experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- This is a physically demanding job that could or does requires standing, moving, reaching, lifting, stretching, bending, and carrying things throughout the day.
- Position requires providing activities of daily living assistance to seniors and requires lifting and transferring or residents as appropriate.
- Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull 50lbs.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read and write comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, family members and other associates
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to identify emergency situations and seeks assistance when needed.
- Ability to at times work flexible hours, such as early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to assist in emergency situations.
- Ability to understand facility's fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
- Basic technical skills to complete a few repetitive and well-defined duties.
- Basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions.
- Basic knowledgeable of federal, state, and facility's rules, regulations, policies and
- procedures.
- Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties.
- Follow defined Infection Control procedures.
Required Attendance:
- Attend scheduled department staff meetings.
- Attend in-service educational programs.
- Attend annual recertifications for state required license & certificates.
