Full Job Description Housekeeper/Handyman/Janitor Job Summary:
The Housekeeper/Handyman supports the treatment and recovery of clients by ensuring a clean environment in the common living areas. They ensure that the facility is clean and tour-ready at any time, which includes light duties such as fluffing pillows, picking up dishes and trash, as well as more extensive duties such as cleaning floors, bathrooms, cabinets, changing bed linens, washing windows and more. The Housekeeper reports to the Facility Manager and may receive direction from other management or lead program assistant on-duty. The pay will be $23.00-$25.00/hour and the schedule with be Monday-Friday with some flexibility in hours.
Examples:
7am-4pm; 8am-5pm; 9am-6pm. Full benefits (medical, dental, vision), PTO, sick days, paid holidays, etc. included!
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures. Organizing items to make them look tidy and neat. Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks. Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area. Making beds and changing linens. Washing windows. Wiping down walls from scuffs; dusting walls as needed. Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs. Sweeping/vacuuming, polishing, and mopping hard floors. Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry (towels, kitchen cloths, bedding, etc.) Do not wash client's clothes. Ironing clothing items such as tablecloths. Using any cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, power washer and other cleaning tools. Keeping bathrooms stocked with clean linens, toiletries, and other supplies. Cleaning mirrors and other glass surfaces. Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste. Steaming and cleaning draperies. Washing blinds. Power-washing decks at least once per month. Cleaning up outside sitting areas. Report any rooms that need additional attention to paint, repairs, carpets. Monitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as needed. Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements ASAP. Other duties as assigned by management. Watering indoor plants. Replacing air filters and maintaining HVAC systems. Performing minor repairs and notifying supervisors or manager of major repairs. Perform minor adjustments on room furniture, fixtures, and other items in the home. Weekly groundskeeping check-in.
General:
Report any dangerous items, drugs/alcohol or loose medications found by taking a photo of the item, noting where you found it and alerting the Program Director immediately. All cleaning materials or sharp items are to remain locked up and never left out while any tenant is present. Discuss any questions/concerns with your direct supervisor (facility manager) or the program director. As a company we work as a team to support each other. It is important that you maintain a professional relationship with all employees. It is expected that all staff pick up and pitch in when/where necessary to ensure that those in our care receive the highest level of quality care available.
Physical Requirements:
Stand or walk for long periods of time. Repeat the same movements. Bend or twist their body. Frequently climbs stairs. Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds.
Education and Experience:
High school or GED. Related experience as a housekeeper/Handyman/Janitor.
