This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, works well independently, and understands the importance of cleanliness and infection control in a healthcare environment. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common areas, offices, and other assigned areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces according to facility standards. Empty trash and properly dispose of waste. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces to help prevent the spread of infection. Follow facility infection control policies, including proper use of PPE and cleaning chemicals. Collect soiled resident linens and personal laundry. Wash, dry, fold, sort, and distribute resident clothing, linens, towels, and bedding. Ensure resident personal clothing is properly labeled and returned to the correct resident. Change bed linens and assist with maintaining clean resident rooms as assigned. Maintain housekeeping carts, laundry areas, equipment, and supply rooms in a clean and organized condition. Notify the supervisor of maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, safety hazards, or needed supplies. Respect resident privacy, dignity, personal belongings, and preferences at all times. Communicate professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and other departments. Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and state and federal healthcare requirements. Complete other housekeeping or laundry duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required. Experience in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, assisted living, hospital, or healthcare environment is a plus. Ability to follow infection control and safety procedures. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate respectfully with elderly and medically complex residents. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift. Must be able to safely lift and move laundry bags, supplies, and equipment as required.
