Position Summary The Facilities Services / Housekeeping Technician performs a broad range of building maintenance and custodial duties to support the safe, efficient, and attractive operation of campus facilities. Responsibilities include plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs; general building maintenance; event setup support; snow removal; and housekeeping services. This position plays a key role in maintaining the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of campus buildings and grounds. Qualifications Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs and respond to maintenance service requests. Complete general maintenance, repairs, and facility modifications. Participate in setup and breakdown for College events and functions. Provide housekeeping and custodial services as needed. Perform snow removal and assist with grounds maintenance. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and emergency response. Qualifications and Education High school diploma or equivalent. Three to five years of experience in basic electrical and plumbing maintenance or related trades. Practical working knowledge of multiple maintenance trades, with emphasis on building maintenance. Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions effectively. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Broad knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Working Conditions Ability to reach overhead, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. Ability to climb ladders and shovel snow. Manual dexterity to operate various tools and equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Regular attendance is required. Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours and emergency situations. This position is designated as essential personnel.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. This position may be required to work outside of these hours based on the needs of the college, including but not limited to during and following snowstorms or other severe weather, or due to unforeseen conditions or other facilities and maintenance needs. Glance:
Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. They accrue between 18 and 23 days of paid time off annually. After 90 days of employment, tuition remission is available, with the college covering 100% of tuition costs (employees are responsible for books and technology fees). The college values work-life balance, offering a summer schedule from June through August. Employees also enjoy 14 paid holidays, including a winter break. Retirement plan participation is available from your first day, with employer contributions beginning after one year of service, based on your length of employment.
