Job Description

About the Job We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Bag Room Assistant to join the team at The Seagate Golf Club. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for members and guests from arrival through the start of their golf round. The Bag Room Assistant will manage the club drop-off area, bag storage, and practice tee operations while upholding The Seagate's commitment to exceptional service and hospitality.
What You Do:
Address members by their last name and greet every member warmly; extend a welcoming reception to all guests. Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the appropriate uniform at all times during shifts. Follow daily procedures meticulously, adhering to specific duties outlined below: Setup and maintain the driving range, including driving range setup, rope placement, and provision of practice balls. Collect range balls promptly and ensure they are cleaned at all times. Coordinate with the pro shop and assistant professionals to ensure accurate and up-to-date starting time information. Clean clubs (woods and irons) and bags daily; ensure all clubs are cleaned before the start of each day. Keep the outside area uncongested, neat, and clean; ensure all bags have club bag tags with names. Assist in tournament operations by organizing carts at the staging area and coordinating with the cart maintenance manager for cart delivery. Report to the pro shop promptly when supplies run low. Ensure no member or guest loads or unloads their own golf bag. Perform range setup tasks such as setting up ropes, arranging ball pyramids, and updating range yardage signs daily. Prepare carts each morning with necessary items such as tees, pencils, scorecards, and rakes; ensure carts are clean and ready for use. Preparation for shotgun starts by pulling bags according to the tee sheet, providing water and towels for each player. Regularly check and maintain cleanliness of range baskets, chipping green, and coolers throughout the day. Sweep the bag room and outside areas as needed. Properly store carts, hose them down, remove trash, and ensure they are cleaned before charging. Take out garbage and replenish clean towels as needed. Perform other duties as necessary. What You Bring to the
Table:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a similar role within a golf club or hospitality setting is preferred. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to address members and guests professionally and courteously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and initiative. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions (wet, hot, cold, or humid). Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
