Full-time Full-time Position Purpose :

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing center in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly manner. Nursing home experience preferred

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and understand directions. Previous housekeeping/laundry experience preferred.

Major Duties or Responsibilities:

Inventories, clothing, and personal items were brought in with new patients and marks with proper identification. Maintains equipment used in performing duties; cleans washers and dryers, dryer lint filters, and soap dispensers at the end of near end of shift. Washes contaminated lines separately from other linens.

Press garments:

checks condition of clothing, folds linen and returns sufficient amount of clean linen to clean linen room on each unit. Picks up soiled linen from units throughout shift. Prepares articles for washing. Dries linens and patients' clothing using dryer. Sort soiled laundry into appropriate loads for washing. Follows standard washing procedures. Cleans, dusts, washes and disinfects all fixtures, floors and walls, doors and ceilings, as directed. Scours and policies water fountains, sinks, mirrors, doors and panels, movable and stationary furnishing, and fixtures. Change slipcovers, scarves, doilies etc. when soiled and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion. Vacuums and shampoos carpeting and rugs. Maintains order in supply room by cleaning lockers and equipment and arranging supplies. Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required. Long- Term Care - Experience a plus Background Screening Requirement This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
