Job Description
Job Purpose General housekeeping in all facets of Park operations with ability to attend to Park facilities with integrity and attention to detail. ➢ Essential Duties Daily tasks may include a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing. Ensure all facilities are cared for according to standards. Deal with reasonable requests with professionalism and patience Adhere to rules regarding health and safety. Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate. May also include general guest services responsibilities, food service preparation, and event preparation duties. Supports the Park Authority's Vision, Mission and Values statement. Maintains a positive example in meeting the needs of staff and visitors. Any other miscellaneous duties as assigned. ➢ Special skills and abilities Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Working quickly without compromising quality. Attention to detail and ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment. Prioritization and time management skills. Bright and happy disposition and ability to demonstrate a welcoming and cooperative demeanor toward guests, staff, and volunteers. Must be willing to work within a team, have flexible availability, reliable transportation to and from work, and exceptional work ethic. Basic computer skills in various types of basic programs. ➢Minimum Qualifications Previous experience in housekeeping or related experience preferred; Any combination of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job may qualify. Must be available for weekend, holiday, and evening hours. This varies upon Park needs. Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License. Failure to maintain a valid driver's license could result in termination. Must be able and comfortable driving a van or truck. ➢ Physical Demands Walking, standing, kneeling, and bending are required of this position on a daily basis. Physical strength to lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 50 pounds, Stamina to work extended periods. ➢ Work Environment Employee is expected to work outside 90% of the time, must be comfortable working in park/zoo setting. ➢ Miscellaneous Chehaw Park & Zoo is a Drug Free Workplace. Employees routinely perform duties in which impairment caused by drugs or alcohol could create a significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, their coworkers, animals in our care, and the public.
