Full Job Description Job Summary Skills and Specifications:
Required Skills & Specifications range from but are not limited to the following: An extremely honest person with high levels of integrity. A keen eye for detail. Excellent time management skills. Rooms must be cleaned thoroughly and in a timely manner. Excellent customer skills. Housekeeping Supervisors are expected to smile and greet all hotel guests they come in contact with. Ability to treat guests, co workers, supervisors, and management with courtesy and professionalism. Should demonstrate accountability for his/her actions and decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Job Responsibilities range from, but are not limited to the following: Physically clean, tidy, and remove debris from guest sleeping rooms/ suites, including but not limited to bathrooms, windows, closets, areas underneath beds, chairs, tables, sinks etc. Guest rooms must be cleaned in such a manner so that the room is hygienic, attractive, orderly, and up to standards. Must maintain an acceptable score for daily room inspections. (score set by hotel) Vacuum, cleaning and dusting the rooms to ensure that they are in a spotless nature for the occupancy of the guests. Dusting includes but is not limited to the following: furniture, light fixtures, artwork, window sills, etc. Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials. Sweep and mop all tiled areas in guest room. Washes basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, showers daily. Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucet or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, burned out light bulbs, furniture needing repair, etc.) Report any lost and found items to your supervisor. Make sure you include the date the item was found and the room number the item was found in. Must follow franchise standards regarding the changing of bed linens and bath towels for 'stay over" guests. Change/replace bed linens and bath towels for all "check outs." Dust air vents Check/clean air conditioning filters or notify maintenance. Stock and maintain an orderly housekeeping cart. Must complete special projects as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or supervisors. Special projects include but are not limited to special deep cleaning of rooms and common areas. Computer Skills No computer skills are necessary for this position. Physical Demands While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee is regularly required, but not limited to the following: Stand Walk Use hands to finger, handle, or feel Reach with hands and arms Climb or balance Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Lift, push, and/or move up to 50lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Dependability Follows instructions, responds to management direction. Takes responsibility for own actions. Keeps commitments. Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. Completes tasks on time of notifies appropriate person with the alternate plan. Attendance/Punctuality Is consistently at work and on time. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. Arrives at meeting and appointments on time. Adaptability Adapts to change in the work environment. Manages competing demands. Changes approach or method to best fit the situation. Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Safety and Security Observes safety and security procedures. Reports potentially unsafe conditions. Uses equipment and material properly.
Scheduling & Transportation Requirements:
Must be able to work weekends and holidays. There is no minimum guarantee on the number of hours a Room Attendant will work per day or per week. Housekeeping Supervisors are scheduled based on demand, season, and special events. Hours can significantly fluctuate from season to season. Employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from work.
