This is a physically active animal care position where you'll spend your shift supervising dogs, cleaning, managing behavior, and maintaining a safe environment. Cleaning and safety are just as important as interacting with the dogs. At Dogtopia of Geneva, you'll learn how to read dog body language, understand play styles, and help guide safe, structured group play. You'll work closely with an experienced team while gaining valuable hands-on experience in canine behavior and daycare operations. Position Details Part-time 3-5 days per week Approximately 15-30 hours per week Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed We are looking for dependable team members interested in long-term employment and growth with our team. This is not a temporary or summer-only position. About the Role As a Canine Coach, you'll help create a safe, clean, and structured environment where dogs can socialize appropriately throughout the day. You'll supervise playgroups, monitor behavior, maintain cleanliness, and help ensure every dog has a safe, positive, and enriching experience. Responsibilities Supervise group play to ensure safe and appropriate interactions between dogs Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, health, or activity level Redirect behavior using Dogtopia's structured play methods Engage dogs through enrichment activities and basic commands Maintain a clean and organized facility throughout the day Clean playrooms, kennels, outdoor areas, and accidents as they occur Assist with feeding and other daily care routines as needed Follow Dogtopia safety, sanitation, and operational procedures Work closely with teammates to provide outstanding care for every dog Qualifications Previous animal care experience is preferred (daycare, veterinary, boarding, shelter, grooming, training, or similar) Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to remain on your feet and active throughout the entire shift Comfortable lifting up to 100 pounds when necessary for dog handling Excellent communication and teamwork skills Passionate about dogs and committed to their safety and well-being Why Work at Dogtopia of Geneva?
