The Housekeeper is a vital member of our team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff at Joliet Living and Rehab Center LLC. As a Housekeeper, you will be expected to adhere to current federal and state standards, ensuring our facility is always immaculate and welcoming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures, removing water marks and ensuring a hygienic environment. Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways, providing a clear and sparkling outlook. Clean floors, including sweeping, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting, adhering to proper safety precautions. Clean carpets, vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting, eliminating dirt, dust, and allergens. Clean walls and ceilings, washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing, creating a fresh and clean atmosphere. Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions, ensuring a thorough and effective cleaning process. Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators, providing easy access and a pleasant experience. Discard waste/trash into proper containers, adhering to established sanitation procedures and relining trash receptacles with plastic liners. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, storing equipment, tools, and supplies properly. Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services, ensuring seamless communication and effective cleaning schedules. Follow established infection control and standard precaution practices, prioritizing resident safety and well-being. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling infectious waste and blood/body fluids.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Long-term care experience preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
