We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain our guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. Position Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable stay for every guest. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the hotel's reputation for cleanliness, hospitality, and guest satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and prepare guest rooms according to hotel standards before guest arrival. Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels, toiletries, and other room amenities. Clean bathrooms, including sinks, mirrors, showers, tubs, and toilets. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, walls, and other surfaces. Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and maintain hallways and public spaces. Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts, supply closets, and storage areas. Stock housekeeping carts with necessary supplies at the beginning of each shift. Collect soiled linens and transport them for laundering. Inspect guest rooms for cleanliness, safety concerns, maintenance issues, and missing or damaged items. Test room equipment, including lights, locks, remotes, and other guest amenities, and report any issues promptly. Document cleaned rooms and update room status reports accurately. Follow established procedures for key control, lost-and-found items, and guest property. Answer basic guest questions and provide courteous assistance when needed. Maintain proper use and care of cleaning products and equipment. Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or guest-related issues to management. Follow all department policies, procedures, and attendance requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous housekeeping or professional cleaning experience preferred (1 year or more preferred). High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to comprehend and speak English fluently to be able to effectively understand instructions and meet the needs of hotel guests. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry items throughout the shift. Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. We are an extremely busy and fast paced hotel thus housekeepers will be required to have an average cleaning time of 35-40 minutes per standard room with rare exceptions.
