Job Description The Guest Room Attendant is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The Guest Room Attendant responsible for maintaining Belterra Casino Resort & Spa standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel, as directed. The Guest Room Attendant is responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of guestrooms and common areas in accordance with established hotel procedures.
The Guest Room Attendant:
Provides extraordinary guest service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers. Advises housekeeping supervisor of rooms ready for occupancy. Maintains and cleans all equipment used throughout the course of a shift, as directed. Examines rooms, halls, and lobbies to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and reports recommendations to management. Reports all safety hazards or maintenance deficiencies for proper handling. Abides by all security measures. Greets all guests throughout shift with the proper salutation and pleasant expression. Performs all duties in a quiet and orderly manner. Is responsible for cleaning of a standard 15 rooms per shift and daily cleaning of common areas. Obtains list of vacant rooms, which need to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective checkouts in order to prepare work assignments. Stocks supplies and maintains the housekeeping carts. Assists in laundry department when needed. Qualifications Ability to communicate with hotel guests, announcing arrival at door, and comprehending special requests from guests. Ability to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible. Must be able to use the equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, vacuum, cleaning supplies and safety equipment. Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area. This position is physical in nature and requires complete physical mobility, including, but not limited to, bending, carrying, climbing stairs, crawling, reaching and squatting. Position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds of supplies and push and pull up to 20 pounds of supplies. These actions are required in order to perform cleaning job duties. This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise. Incumbents are at times subjected to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions are followed. Ability to clean as directed at an acceptable performance rate. Ability to minimally communicate and understand matters of mutual concern, such as directions, hazards or questions. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training. Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed. Must be at least 18 years of age.
