Position Summary:

This role focuses on the daily cleaning and upkeep of dining areas, common spaces, offices, and restrooms, with occasional support for special events. We're looking for someone reliable, independent, and eager to make a difference. At least one year of prior cleaning experience and maintaining professional spaces a plus.
Schedule:
This PRN position provides flexible, as-needed coverage for staffing shortages, vacations, and employee absences. Hours are available Monday through Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. , based on departmental needs. No guaranteed hours are provided. Ideal candidates will have flexible availability and be willing to pick up shifts to help maintain office operations during periods of increased workload or when regular staff members are away.

Essential Duties:
Keep carts, uniforms and equipment clean, stocked and in safe repair. Follow cleaning schedule for each day. Handle unexpected situations on daily basis. Clean bathrooms, bedrooms, offices, lounges, kitchens, hallways, etc. as on daily schedule. Empty wastebaskets, dust and polish furniture/marble, clean woodwork, dust window. blinds and take care of antiques in common areas. Will clean retreat centers, chapels, dining rooms and parlors weekly. Yearly heavy cleaning will also include windows, registers, beds and woodwork. Will help set up areas for special events in the Motherhouse as needed. Cleans machinery used daily and puts away in orderly fashion. Areas will pass daily inspections. Mandatory attendance for in-services provided by department or Mother House. Have knowledge of cleaning products and equipment. Be able to use and care for personal cart, supplies, mop and bucket. Know how to use machines floor care and tile and grout cleaning. Understand the SCL mission and remain considerate of them and their home. Keep medical/physical matters regarding the Sisters confidential. Meet deadlines for daily work schedules. Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED. Able to work independently, but with a team as jobs require. Ability to respond quickly to change. Be able to read, think, discuss and learn all aspects of position. Willingness to work in a nursing home environment. Have reliable transportation. At least one year of prior cleaning experience and maintaining professional spaces a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires frequent physical activity, including standing, climbing, reaching, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and performing repetitive movements with the hands and feet to handle, control, or feel objects. Able to lift up to 30 pounds. Able to push/pull a housekeeping cart weighing approximately 30-40 pounds. Requires contact with others (face to face, by telephone, or otherwise) and working. with individuals or as a team. Job will include exposure to diseases or infectious agents at times. Requires to wearing the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
