Job Description

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Routine Housekeeping Clean offices as assigned by supervisor, ensuring that trash in emptied daily and heavier cleaning such as vacuuming, dusting, etc is done weekly. Clean resident rooms daily ensuring floors are swept and mopped, furniture is dusted, linens are changed, trash is removed, and bathrooms are sanitized. Change bedspreads when necessary. Vacuum carpeted hallways. Cleans windows (in and out) in all entryways and hallways daily if necessary. Washes outdoor windows annually or as needed. Clean employee and guest restrooms ensuring that floors are swept and mopped, toilets and sinks are sanitized and bathroom supplies are sufficient. Sweep dining rooms after each mealtime and mop up any areas as needed. Changes out the mop and water for nursing staff in soiled utility rooms and bathing suites daily. Clean around nurses' desk and empty trash. Check and empty trashcans in soiled utility rooms several times a day. Clean Chapel and Chapel kitchen daily or as needed otherwise. Clean Employee Lounge area daily or as needed otherwise. Checks and cleans out all refrigerators on campus for appropriate temperatures and spoiling foods, cleanliness, etc Wash and sanitize wheelchairs as necessary or as directed by supervisor. Clean water fountains ensuring that lime deposits and water spots are not visible. Replaces all supplies, such as paper supplies, hand soaps and other supplies as needed. Assists with preparing vacant room for occupancy. Equipment Maintenance/Safety Checks water temperatures in various locations to ensure the water is at the correct temperature. Operates the housekeeping and floor care equipment and chemicals appropriately. Follow safety data sheets (SDS) to ensure correct handling and storage of cleaning supplies and proper precautions for safety for staff and residents. Observes proper waste disposal procedures for regular waste and bio-hazardous waste. Recordkeeping/Communication Follows instructions from nursing department for special laundry/housekeeping needs of the residents. Reports all undesignated clothing to supervisor. Reports any noticeable missing items in residents' room to supervisor immediately. Complete maintenance request forms for any observed maintenance repairs that are needed. Identifies and reports any equipment malfunction to supervisor. Other Duties Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Six months of related experience is preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills:
Enthusiasm, courtesy, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with others to achieve desired outcomes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and bending, as well as frequently lifting up to 30 pounds.
