Job Description

The Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks, a Colwen Hotels property, is looking for a Houseperson/Shuttle Van Driver to provide transportation to and from the airport for our guests in a comfortable, safe and timely manner. In addition to transporting guests, in this role you will be responsible for vehicle cleanliness and inspecting the vehicle for safety and required maintenance. In down time you will be responsible for assisting with cleaning public spaces inside and outside the hotel. To be successful in this position you should enjoy talking with people, understand the local area, and possess a valid driver's license with no traffic violations.
General Responsibilities:
Drive hotel shuttle/van to transport guests Assist guests with entering and exiting shuttle/van and assist with luggage Ensure guests reach destination safely and on time Conducts routine maintenance on vehicles including adding gasoline, oil, and water and checking tire pressure; ensures more specialized maintenance and repairs are performed Observes safety regulations and state laws regarding vehicle operation; ensures passengers also follow applicable safety regulations Ensures vehicle equipment such as brakes, lights, windshield wipers, etc., is maintained and operating properly Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments Clean and maintain the appearance of the exterior of hotel including but not limited to, sidewalks, awning poles, signage and hotel entrance, including snow removal Dust, polish furniture and remove marks /stains from walls and furnishing Remove all trash, dirty linens, towels and room service items from public areas Vacuum carpets and clean floors Deliver items to guest rooms upon request from front desk Notify maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs Empty trash receptacles and transport trash to dumpster Perform other duties as assigned We've got you covered: Benefits & Perks Medical Insurance with Company-Funded HRA Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Accounts Wide-Array of Supplemental Insurance Offerings Paid Time Off Programs Employee Assistance Program 401K Plan - Traditional & Roth Options with Employer Match Hotel Discount Travel Program for Associates & Family Exclusive Associate Discounts -

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record required Thorough understanding of traffic regulations, road signs, and routes Ability to lift and move luggage Work quickly without compromising quality Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance Excellent customer service skills, pleasant and friendly Detail oriented and thorough Willingness to work rotational 7-day work cycle, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Colwen Hotels is an equal opportunity employer.
