Overview:

Provide direct housekeeping services to older and disabled clients of the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) program. Typical work will include vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens of individual homes and apartments throughout Macomb County. Other duties might include laundry, changing bed linens, washing dishes, decluttering and other basic home chores. IVC is a non-profit organization that helps older and disabled adults remain independent at home. Clients are in need of help with basic housekeeping, and IVC provides this support to them free of charge. Your time cleaning someone's house will help a neighbor in need!

Qualifications:

Professional experience preferred, but not required. However, basic knowledge and competency in housekeeping tasks is essential. Applicants should be very positive, enthusiastic and dependable. Must be able to interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner. The position requires ongoing physical work. Must be able to reach, bend, carry and lift in all ways that are required to perform basic housekeeping duties. Will also need to have reliable transportation in place to get to residential assignments.

Schedule:

We offer a very flexible schedule. Each week we will give you a choice of assignments and you simply pick the ones you want. You can work the assignments around your other responsibilities, and schedule them on days and times that are most convenient for you. Great side gig!

Pay & Hours:

Hourly wage starting at $14 per hour. This is a flexible position with no minimum hours, but usually totals anywhere from 5 to 15 hours per week, depending on how many assignments you choose. Set your own schedule. This job is considered seasonal/temporary contingent work, and does not come with a benefits package.
