Job Overview Join our team as a Rest Area Attendant and play a vital role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities for travelers. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of rest area amenities, creating a positive experience for all visitors. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help uphold the high standards of our rest stops, making each visit comfortable and enjoyable. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community safety and comfort while developing valuable custodial and maintenance skills. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of restrooms, picnic areas, parking lots, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to ensure hygiene standards are met Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and floor care procedures to preserve a clean and professional appearance Monitor facilities for maintenance issues like broken fixtures or safety hazards and report them promptly for repair Assist with custodial responsibilities including restocking supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper Support general facilities maintenance tasks including light repairs or painting as needed to keep the area in top condition Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored according to safety guidelines Experience Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in commercial or industrial cleaning environments Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing and polishing is highly desirable Experience with facilities maintenance or porter duties is a plus Knowledge of cleaning products, safety procedures, and proper use of custodial equipment is beneficial Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness Strong attention to detail and commitment to creating a safe, sanitary environment for visitors Join us as a Rest Area Attendant to make a meaningful difference in travelers' experiences!
