Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties across various healthcare areas, including patient rooms, corridors, waiting areas, and restrooms, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards. Use appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely to disinfect surfaces, floors, and medical equipment while following environmental services protocols. Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move supplies or equipment. Respond promptly to on-call requests for cleaning or sanitation support in designated areas to ensure continuous hygiene standards are upheld. Requirements Previous janitorial or healthcare facilities housekeeping experience is highly preferred; familiarity with hospital environments is a plus. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety protocols, and manual handling practices. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and sanitation tools effectively. Experience with laundry processes within healthcare settings is desirable. Strong understanding of infection prevention and control practices specific to healthcare environments. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with staff and visitors. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices; physical stamina for prolonged periods of standing or walking is essential.
