Position Summary The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned guest rooms and public areas while ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards and hotel cleanliness expectations. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to providing exceptional hospitality. Housekeeping Attendants are expected to maintain productivity standards while delivering a consistently high-quality product that exceeds guest expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to Marriott brand standards and hotel productivity expectations. Make beds with proper linen presentation and replace all linens, towels, and amenities as required. Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, mirrors, showers, tubs, toilets, countertops, and floors. Dust and clean all furniture, fixtures, appliances, windowsills, lamps, artwork, and guest room surfaces. Vacuum carpets, mop hard surface flooring, and maintain overall room appearance. Restock coffee service, toiletries, paper products, and guest supplies. Inspect rooms for cleanliness, maintenance concerns, and proper functionality before marking rooms as complete. Report maintenance deficiencies, damaged furniture, safety hazards, or unusual conditions immediately using established procedures. Complete deep-cleaning projects, preventative cleaning assignments, and special projects as assigned. Clean and maintain assigned public areas, hallways, elevators, stairwells, laundry areas, and back-of-house spaces when needed. Maintain housekeeping carts with proper inventory levels and ensure carts remain organized and clean throughout the shift. Safely handle and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Remove trash, soiled linens, and recyclables following hotel procedures. Protect guest privacy and security by following all key control, lost-and-found, and confidentiality procedures. Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests while providing friendly and courteous service. Communicate effectively with the Front Desk, Maintenance, and Housekeeping leadership regarding room status and guest needs. Report any suspicious activity, safety concerns, or security issues immediately. Assist with laundry operations, linen distribution, or other housekeeping functions as business demands require. Follow all Marriott standards, company policies, local health regulations, and departmental procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support hotel operations. Qualifications Previous housekeeping, hotel, janitorial, or cleaning experience preferred but not required. Hospitality experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce quality work. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently. Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment. Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality. Basic English communication skills required. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check. Physical Requirements This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to: Stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, push, and reach above shoulder level. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Push and maneuver fully stocked housekeeping carts throughout the property. Use repetitive hand and arm motions while cleaning. Work safely around cleaning chemicals and equipment. Work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business demands.
