Seasonal Part-time position that is responsible for assisting in maintaining the building, exhibits, and grounds of the Aquarium, cleaning and maintaining them neatly. Primary job responsibilities include cleaning and vacuuming floors, cleaning walls, and cleaning public areas. This includes restrooms for staff and the public, food service areas, teaching labs, event spaces, an admissions area, and parking lots. This position is responsible for routine cleaning of all windows, doors, and exhibits, and for the removal of trash from public and staff containers. Assist with other tasks as assigned. Schedule Varies:
Daily 8am-5pm. (16-32 hrs per week). Weekends may be required. • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions and directions, maintenance and procedural manuals, regulations, safety sheets and carry out both written and verbal instructions. • Ability to lift 50lbs, work on your feet for long periods of time, and climb ladders. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, and polishing to maintain pristine surfaces Manage laundry tasks including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and clothing items Ensure all surfaces are sanitized according to health standards to promote a safe environment Assist with meal preparation when required, including basic cooking tasks to support residents' or guests' needs Maintain organized storage of cleaning supplies and equipment for efficient operations Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to requests and addressing any concerns with professionalism and courtesy Experience Previous custodial or janitorial experience in residential or commercial settings preferred Experience in hotel housekeeping or hospitality industry highly desirable Knowledge of cleaning techniques including carpet cleaning, floor care, sanitation practices, and use of cleaning machinery Familiarity with laundry procedures and equipment operation Background in housekeeper management or supervisory roles is a plus Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to sanitation and cleaning standards Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning tools efficiently Join us as a Housekeeper and be part of a vibrant team committed to excellence!
