Compensation:
$12.00-$14.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Position Summary Bonaparte Hotel, Inc. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-minded Part-Time Housekeeper to maintain guest rooms, suites, the City View Apartment, common areas, and designated back-of-house spaces at Bonaparte Castle. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the property consistently meets high standards of cleanliness, presentation, sanitation, and guest readiness while exercising special care within a historic boutique-hotel environment. Key Responsibilities Guest Room Turnover & Stayover Service Clean, sanitize, reset, and inspect guest rooms, suites, bathrooms, and the City View Apartment following guest checkouts and established Bonaparte Castle standards Make beds, replace linens and towels, replenish guest amenities and supplies, empty trash, dust, vacuum, mop, clean bathrooms, and prepare rooms for arriving guests Provide stayover service as assigned, including light room refresh, trash removal, towel replacement, bed straightening, and replenishment of necessary guest items Confirm that rooms are fully presentation-ready and promptly report damage, missing items, maintenance concerns, unusual conditions, or lost-and-found property to management Respect guest privacy, security, and personal property and follow all room-access and key-control procedures Coordinate room readiness with the General Manager or designated supervisor so cleaned rooms can be released for guest arrival Laundry, Common Areas & Property Stewardship Wash, dry, fold, organize, and properly store guest-room linens, towels, and other hotel laundry associated with housekeeping operations Clean and maintain common guest areas, hallways, stairs, restrooms, entry areas, and other assigned spaces in a clean, orderly, and presentation-ready condition Perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks and periodic detail cleaning of rooms, furnishings, fixtures, baseboards, windows, and other assigned areas Use cleaning products, equipment, linens, furnishings, and historic-property features carefully and in accordance with company procedures Supplies, Events & Team Coordination Maintain housekeeping carts, cleaning supplies, linens, guest amenities, and storage areas in an organized condition and report low inventory to management Assist with cleaning and property reset before or after weddings, receptions, private parties, and other special events when scheduled Coordinate with hotel and event staff when housekeeping priorities change due to early arrivals, late departures, room turns, or special guest needs Qualifications Prior hotel, residential, commercial, or hospitality housekeeping experience preferred; candidates with strong cleaning experience and attention to detail may also be considered Dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and able to work independently while following established cleaning checklists and property standards Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize cleanliness, presentation, maintenance, and safety issues before a room or area is released Professional and discreet when working around guests, guest belongings, hotel staff, vendors, and private events Able to manage time effectively and adjust priorities based on occupancy, checkout times, arrivals, stayovers, and operational needs Familiarity with safe cleaning-product use, sanitation practices, and laundry procedures is preferred Daytime and weekend availability is preferred; scheduling will vary according to hotel occupancy and event activity Physical & Safety Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation, the employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks; safely operate typical housekeeping equipment; and lift or carry linens, supplies, trash, and other items associated with hotel housekeeping. The employee must follow sanitation, chemical-handling, workplace-safety, and historic-property care procedures. Work Environment Bonaparte Castle is a historic boutique hotel and events property. Housekeeping work takes place throughout guest rooms, common areas, laundry and service areas, and may involve frequent stair use and changing priorities based on guest occupancy and events. Professional appearance, discretion, care of the historic property, and consistent attention to cleanliness and guest readiness are expected.
