Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Houseman/Public Area Attendant to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our hotel's public spaces. In this vital role, you will ensure that all guest-facing areas are spotless, well-maintained, and inviting. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to delivering an exceptional guest experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic hospitality team committed to excellence. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and stairwells using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment. Maintain floor care by sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming to ensure surfaces are pristine and safe for guests and staff. Monitor the cleanliness of furniture, fixtures, and decorative elements in public spaces, reporting any damages or maintenance needs promptly. Assist with set-up and breakdown of public area amenities for events or special occasions as needed. Follow all safety procedures related to industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals to ensure a safe environment for yourself and others. Support housekeeping management by completing assigned tasks efficiently and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout your shift. Collaborate with team members to uphold the hotel's standards of hospitality and cleanliness at all times. Strip linens from rooms. Walk hallways to ensure they are free of linen. Clean elevator tracks and walls. Experience Prior experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles is highly preferred. Experience with janitorial or industrial cleaning techniques is advantageous. Familiarity with floor care equipment such as buffers, extractors, and vacuums is desirable. Knowledge of hospitality industry standards ensures an understanding of guest expectations for cleanliness. Previous custodial experience in large-scale or commercial settings enhances your ability to handle diverse cleaning challenges effectively. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent time management skills is essential for success in this role. Pay:
$13.00 - $14.00 per hour
