Position Summary The Banquet Houseman is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet and meeting spaces to ensure successful events and exceptional guest experiences. This role supports banquet operations by arranging tables, chairs, staging, linens, audiovisual equipment, and other event materials according to event orders and management instructions. The Banquet Houseman works closely with the Banquet, Catering, and Events teams to ensure all event spaces are clean, organized, and ready for guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and event venues according to banquet event orders (BEOs) and floor plans. Arrange tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, podiums, and other event equipment. Assist with the setup and operation of audiovisual equipment as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, storage rooms, and service stations. Monitor event spaces throughout functions and respond promptly to setup changes or guest requests. Break down event spaces after functions and return equipment and furniture to designated storage areas. Transport tables, chairs, and equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure all banquet rooms meet company standards for appearance, cleanliness, and safety. Assist banquet servers and other departments as needed to support successful event execution. Follow all safety procedures and proper lifting techniques. Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to management. Provide courteous and professional service to guests, clients, and team members. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous banquet, hospitality, hotel, or event setup experience preferred. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to move tables, chairs, staging, and other banquet equipment. Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Banquet Houseman performs other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the Events and Banquet Department.
