A private family in Summit, NJ is seeking a reliable, caring, and experienced Weekend Housekeeper to support household operations and minimal childcare support for their three young children. This role is focused on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday coverage, but the family is open to providing additional weekday hours for candidates seeking a fuller schedule. The ideal candidate will be warm, proactive, and confident in managing both childcare and housekeeping tasks, and comfortable working collaboratively with other household staff.
Responsibilities:
General housekeeping, including deep cleaning and tidying of common areas and children's rooms Family laundry, ironing, wardrobe care and closet organization Assist with basic meal prep for the children (and family, if needed) Run errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and supply runs Provide support with light pet care and occasional plant care Answer house phone and receive guests in a warm and professional manner Assist with service during family meals and informal events Provide attentive and age-appropriate care for three children, including activities, supervision, and support with daily routines Engage with the children in a nurturing, patient, and responsible manner
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar housekeeping with childcare role in a private home Strong references from both current and previous employers Proficient English communication skills (spoken and written) Experience caring for multiple children, including toddlers and young school-aged kids Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented, hands-on approach A team player who is flexible, reliable, and proactive Comfortable around water and able to supervise children while swimming Valid U.S. work authorization Valid driver's license and confidence driving in NJ SSIN789
