Job Overview:
The Housekeeping Worker, under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager cleans and supplies patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with hospital objectives.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
Prior housekeeping experience in a health care environment
Scheduling Requirements:
Shifts vary such as 4:30am-1:00pm and 12:00pm-8:30pm Rotating weekends and holidays
Per Diem Essential Functions:
Ability to read a variety of cleaning agent labels and recognize potential hazards. Prepares and uses solutions according to procedure Adheres to Attendance and Reliability Standards. Gives proper notification for absence or tardiness as per policy Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request Cleans all environmental surfaces in assigned areas according to department policy and procedure Cleans and disinfects geri chairs, dayroom furniture, tray tables and other common area furniture as needed Empties waste baskets, removes trash, vacuums carpets and dry and/or wet mops floors of rooms and offices Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when needed Maintains cleanliness of restrooms throughout the facility. Refills paper towels, toilet paper, soap and neat seat dispensers as needed Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures. Cleans and stores supplies and equipment in the housekeeping closet Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods Performs patient discharge room cleaning Scrubs and buffs floors with approved equipment Transports trash from the utility rooms and other collection points to designated areas. Compacts, incinerates trash or places in containers
