Job Description

The Thousand Islands Winery® has an immediate opening for a Tasting Room Attendant, a seasoned and knowledgeable person to serve one of our 26 different varieties of wines and operate within our retail store. The ideal candidate is a wine Sommelier, certified in WCET 1-4, has experience with Point of Sale systems (Square), and is Food Safe Certified as we have a limited menu of appetizers and locally produced food items. The position generally serves as an opener, closer, happy hour swing shift, or attendant during one of our numerous on-site events
PRIMARY DUTIES
Learn to accurately describe wines, winemaking techniques, Winery history, and unique aspects of wines Handle routine POS functions including processing transactions, returns, discounts, and accounting of daily sales. Assist Tasting Room Managers in ensuring that all wine and merchandise is always stocked and displayed in an organized, clean, and inviting manner. Facilitates shipping of wine to customers and meets all compliance and regulatory requirements of wine shipments. Participates and assists with special hospitality events occurring at the Winery. Perform daily Tasting Room cleaning duties. Must be able to work weekends and allow for a flexible schedule. Ability to lift and move 40 pounds repeatedly. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to pass a drug screening. Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid NYS driver license.
