Job Description

We are looking for a warm, patient, and energetic home helper and companion for a 24-year-old young man on the autism spectrum. This role focuses primarily on assisting around the house and managing daily household chores —such as cooking and meal preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, and general house cleaning—while also spending quality time with him as a friendly companion (e.g., going for walks, playing games such as Nintendo Switch, or sharing hobbies). Please note that he can sometimes be illogical, fixate on a single topic, and repeat things, so we are seeking someone who is exceptionally patient, understanding, and easygoing. Since our schedule is flexible, we are looking for someone available for as many hours as possible to work out a mutually convenient schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Main Focus:
Assisting with daily household chores, including preparing meals/cooking, doing laundry, grocery shopping, and general house cleaning to keep the home running smoothly. Engaging in fun activities, hobbies, and recreational games together when appropriate (such as walks, playing Nintendo Switch games, etc.). Providing a safe, supportive, and friendly social environment with patience and understanding. Accompanying him on outings or indoor activities depending on his interests. Building a reliable and trusting rapport.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Preferred age: 20s to 40s. Experience or background working with individuals with autism, special needs, or caregiving/housekeeping is a plus, but a warm heart, patience, and a positive attitude are most important. Strong empathy, emotional resilience, and interpersonal skills. Reliability and trustworthiness. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Schedule & Pay:
Hours:
Flexible, part-time with the maximum possible hours available based on mutual schedule agreement.
Hourly Rate:
$24.00 per hour (Tax included / Respite program funded)
Pay:
$24.00 per hour
Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Work Location:
