Job Description

Environmental Services Aide (Houskeeping) Full time or Part time 1 st Shift / Occasional evenings and weekends The housekeeper/laundry aide performs duties of cleaning and sanitizing all areas on a regular basis throughout the facility. Responsible for room transitions; these tasks include washing beds, sweeping and mopping, trash removal, and equipment cleaning. Completes linen procedures of washing, drying, ironing, and folding all laundry. The individual will have close contact with residents and families.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to speak, read, and write conversational English, required; Positive attitude, ability and willingness to work harmoniously with all, required; Ability to maintain confidentiality, and honor Resident's Rights, required; First aid and CPR certification, preferred; Must be able to communicate effectively with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public; Must have excellent attendance and work history; Must be able to stand for the entire shift, and to push, pull move and/or lift supplies and equipment, max. over 50 lbs.; Must be able to grasp, pull, push, twist, squat, walk, and use both hands as described on the Job Analysis sheet; Must work with various cleaning chemicals and must comply with Blood-borne pathogen exposure policy; Must have patience, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm handling difficult situations; Familiarity with cleaning and disinfecting materials, SDS, OSHA safe practices, preferred.
