Role:
The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and a welcoming environment within residential or commercial properties. This position ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned to the highest standards, contributing to the overall comfort and satisfaction of occupants or guests. The Housekeeper will manage routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces, while also handling laundry and restocking supplies as needed. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols are essential to prevent contamination and maintain a healthy environment. Ultimately, the Housekeeper supports the smooth operation of the facility by creating a clean, organized, and pleasant atmosphere for all who use the space.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning services is highly desirable. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe usage. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in housekeeping or custodial services. Experience working in hospitality, healthcare, or residential settings. Familiarity with environmentally friendly cleaning products and practices. Good communication skills to interact professionally with supervisors and occupants. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough cleaning of rooms, hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, and other designated areas according to established standards. Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and polish furniture and fixtures to maintain cleanliness and appearance. Change bed linens, launder towels, and replenish supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products. Dispose of trash and recycling materials in a timely and sanitary manner. Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or inventory shortages to the supervisor promptly. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of residents or guests at all times.

The required skills enable the Housekeeper to efficiently execute daily cleaning tasks while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Attention to detail ensures that no area is overlooked, contributing to a consistently clean environment. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are essential for handling cleaning equipment and performing repetitive motions throughout the workday. Preferred skills such as knowledge of eco-friendly products allow the Housekeeper to support sustainability initiatives and reduce environmental impact.
