A Maid or Housekeeping Staff provides cleaning and housekeeping services, primarily for rooms and bathrooms in hotels and hospitals. May also work in private residences, office buildings, colleges, other institutions.
Wickiup Cabins is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to join our small, family-owned cabin rental business located near Cheyenne Crossing, just 12 miles from Deadwood, SD. Skip the repetitive hotel grind and work in a beautiful, active environment, maintaining 20 modern and rustic cabins along scenic Spearfish Creek. We offer $18.00 per hour plus a generous commuting mileage reimbursement.

Season :
Runs annually from June 1st through September 30th.
Start Date :
July 17th (or as negotiated upon job offer).
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Wage :
$18.00/hr.
Commuter Mileage Reimbursement :
$0.725 per mile if commuting from Spearfish, Sturgis, Lead, or Deadwood.
Environment :
Beautiful outdoor setting along Spearfish Creek with a supportive, small team.
Schedule & Hours Hours :
21-29 hours per week (varies based on guest occupancy).
Shift Times :
Typically starts between 9:00 AM-10:00 AM and ends between 3:00 PM-5:00 PM (5-9 hours per day).
Days :
3-4 days per week on average.
Flexibility :
Days of the week vary based on guest checkouts. Schedules are sent out 5-7 days in advance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities Cabin Turnover :
Thoroughly clean 2, 4, and 6-person cabins upon checkout to high hospitality standards, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, floors, and outdoor porches.
Laundry Operations :
Manage daily on-site laundering, folding, and organizing of all linens, towels, and rags.
Facility Maintenance :
Keep your workspace, tools, and housekeeping golf cart clean and organized.
Teamwork & Extra Tasks :
Work closely with a small staff (including Workcampers, a handyman, and office staff). Perform light tasks like picking up trash, organizing, and tidying common areas as assigned.
Physical Requirements Active Labor :
Ability to handle a highly physical workday involving repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, and carrying.
Stairs & Lofts :
Ability to easily climb stairs and work comfortably in a stooped position inside low-ceiling loft bedrooms.
Mobility :
Ability to drop down to your hands and knees to thoroughly clean and inspect under beds and furniture.
Qualifications & Skills Housekeeping Experience :
Previous cleaning or hospitality experience is preferred.
Quality Standard :
A genuine care for cleanliness and the ability to hustle on busy days without sacrificing quality.
Coachability :
Strong communication skills and a natural disposition to receive constructive feedback and make quick adjustments. (The Manager inspects every cabin upon completion).
Reliable Transportation :
