This position will be based at our apartment community, The Booker, in Duncanville, TX. Job Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of apartment community common areas, offices, amenities, and vacant apartment homes. This role supports apartment make-ready operations, resident satisfaction, and overall property standards. Experience in apartment housekeeping, janitorial services, commercial cleaning, or facilities cleaning is preferred. Essential Job Functions Common Area & Facility Cleaning Clean and maintain all interior common areas, including clubhouse, leasing office, restrooms, kitchens, fitness center, business center, theater, and laundry rooms Perform routine housekeeping and janitorial duties including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing, polishing floors, and carpet cleaning Clean windows, door panels, window sills, walls, baseboards, and woodwork Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas Replenish restroom supplies and replace light bulbs as needed Clean and prepare model apartments daily prior to leasing office opening time. Assist with scheduled deep-cleaning projects such as floor stripping, exterior window cleaning, and pool furniture cleaning Support curb appeal by assisting with light exterior debris removal Vacant Apartment Cleaning & Make-Ready Support Clean vacant apartment units according to make-ready schedules and company standards Assist maintenance team with preparing apartments for new move-ins Update and maintain unit status boards and communicate readiness to the Maintenance Supervisor Inventory, Safety & Compliance Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment Keep maintenance shop and storage areas clean, organized, and safe Follow OSHA guidelines, company safety policies, and emergency procedures Attend safety meetings and participate in risk management programs Report accidents, incidents, and property damage promptly Follow key control and access procedures Team & Resident Support Attend daily maintenance meetings and weekly community meetings Provide professional, courteous customer service to residents, prospects, and guests Support resident satisfaction, retention activities, and community events Collaborate with on-site associates, corporate teams, and vendors Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 6 months of experience in apartment housekeeping, janitorial services, commercial cleaning, or facilities maintenance preferred
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent experience)
Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and cleaning chemicals Ability to read and follow instructions, work orders, and safety guidelines Strong attention to detail and time management skills Customer service-focused with strong communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team English or Spanish communication skills preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to climb stairs and ladders Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements Work Environment Indoor work environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and airborne particles Occasional exposure to mechanical equipment and electrical hazards Moderate noise levels and fast-paced environment May require evenings, weekends, on-call shifts, overtime, and travel Pet-friendly apartment community environment Our Company is an equal Opportunity Employer.
